Employability Training Programme
Getting a job is
more than just about having the
right qualifications and experience
for the position. Employers also
look for all important “soft”
skills. These include attitude,
reliability, confidence and
communication. For a potential
employee, these are just as relevant
as “hard” skills such as IT and
telephone techniques. This is
because employers find it easier to
teach hard skills whereas
prospective employees need to
possess the soft skills before they
are ready for employment.
Outreach Training Programme
Outreach work has
been a key ingredient for the
success of our regeneration agency.
At its most basic level, it can
involve a simple leafleting
exercise. In a more advanced
setting, it entails in-depth
interviews with residents and
workers at a grass-roots level.
Outreach can help organisations to
improve and deliver better services
to residents via information
gathered from questionnaires and
surveys. And it can also help hard
to reach residents to access
services that can improve their
quality of life. Enabling and
empowering local people is
beneficial to all parties concerned
and outreach work is a perfect way
of achieving this. With this in
mind, KCRT developed the Outreach
Training Programme; a 3 day (12
hour) course in which participants
are introduced to all aspects of
outreach work.
